Mykola Storozhenko

Born in 1928 in the village of V'yazove, Sumska oblast.

In 1945 entered Odesa Grekov's College of Art where he studied in the studios of M. Sheluto and L. Muchnyk. In 1950 entered Kyiv State Art Institute where he studied in the studios of T. Yablonska, S. Grigoryev and M. Sharonov. From 1954 through 1955 traveled through Kazachstan and Altai, where he produced over 700 paintings and sketches. In 1956 graduated from Kyiv State Art Institute. In 1960 became a member of the National Artists Union. Since 1956 participated in 90 solo and group exhibitions, nationally and internationally. In 1988 received the National Taras Shevchenko Award. In 2000 became a permanent member of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine.
