DESCRIPTION:The Ukrainian Institute of America\, in partnership with the Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania and the Lithuanian Culture Institute\, is pleased to present \nSongs of Solidarity\nAn Evening of Ukrainian + Lithuanian Jazz and Friendship \nfeaturing \nAndrey Chmut – saxophone (Ukraine)\nDomas Žeromskas – piano (Lithuania)\nIan Quinton Banno – upright bass (USA)\nHéctor L. Falu Guzmán – drums (Puerto Rico) \nThursday\, November 13\, 2025 at 7:30 PM\n2 East 79th Street  New York\, NY 10075 \nA wine reception will follow the concert. Advance registration is requested. \nGeneral admission: $30 / UIA Friends: $25 / UIA Members: $20 \n  \nTICKETS\n  \nThe concert celebrates the spirit of friendship and artistic collaboration between Ukraine and Lithuania\, uniting our communities through music\, fellowship\, and shared resilience. Born of mutual support and creative partnership\, it offers an evening of reflection\, hope\, and harmony through the universal language of jazz. \nThis project brings together four musicians\, each contributing a distinct yet harmonious musical and cultural voice. All four are accomplished composers and bandleaders whose artistry is shaped by the histories and present realities of their respective homelands\, as well as by their shared commitment to beauty\, faith\, and truth. Their program weaves together original compositions\, sacred and traditional pieces\, and reimagined freedom songs that have long inspired the endurance and spirit of their nations. \nThe Ukrainian Institute of America expresses its deepest gratitude to the Lithuanian Consulate in New York for sponsoring this evening of music and friendship. \n  \nABOUT THE ARTISTS \nAndrey Chmut is a Ukrainian saxophonist whose journey from a small town has led to internationalstages. After graduating from Kyiv’s Glière Music College\, he toured with Eurovision winner Jamala. A pivotal collaboration with Bob James led to a Grammy-nominated album and performances across the US and Europe\, showcasing his music of resilience and connection. \nDomas Žeromskas is a Lithuanian pianist and composer and a rising voice in European jazz. He released his debut album at eighteen and has since collaborated with international artists like Jacques Schwarz-Bart and Tom Scott. A Berklee graduate and New England Conservatory master’s candidate\, his recent work showcases a lyrical and searching style. \nIan Quinton Banno is a versatile bassist active in the New England scene\, fluent in jazz\, classical\, R&B\, and Afro-Caribbean traditions. He has performed at major festivals like Newport and Montreal Jazz and collaborated with prominent artists. He is also a dedicated educator\, having given masterclasses at institutions including Princeton and MIT. \nHéctor L. Falu Guzmán is a drummer and composer who brings the rhythmic heritage of Puerto Rico to a global stage. A Berklee graduate\, he has performed internationally and collaborates with artists like Jacques Schwarz-Bart and Gregory Tardy. His work explores themes of Puerto Rican identity and spirituality through adventurous musical language. \n  \nThe Lithuanian Culture Institute is a budgetary institution under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania\, established in 2008. Its mission is to strengthen the role of Lithuanian culture globally by presenting professional art and culture abroad. The Institute works to enhance international opportunities for Lithuanian cultural professionals\, artists\, and organizations. Its activities are guided by the thematic and geographical priorities set by the Ministry of Culture and are carried out in cooperation with cultural professionals and the Cultural Attachés of the Republic of Lithuania. \nThe Ukrainian Institute of America has been at the forefront of promoting Ukrainian culture and democratic values to the world for 75 years. Through its vibrant programs\, the Institute serves as a bridge between Ukraine and the American people\, fostering cultural interaction\, mutual understanding\, and appreciation of shared values and goals.
