DESCRIPTION:The Ukrainian Institute of America\, in partnership with The Kosciuszko Foundation\, present From Poland to Ukraine: Culture and Crisis\, an evening with humanitarian Marcin Piotrowski and award-winning guitarist Jack Marcin. \n  \nSaturday\, October 12\, 2024 | 7:00 – 9:00 PM \nUkrainian Institute of America2 East 79th Street (at Fifth Avenue)New York\, NY 10075 \nJoin us for an evening with Marcin Piotrowski as he shares insights into his cultural projects\, including The Folkowisko Foundation\, and his humanitarian efforts supporting Ukraine. Enjoy wine and cheese while Jack Marcin performs his distinctive musical style. Reservations are recommended. \n$20 General admission / UIA and KF members free \n  \nTICKETS\n  \nMarcin Piotrowski\, a journalist\, sociologist\, and humanitarian activist\, will discuss his pivotal efforts during the war in Ukraine. As the founder of The Folkowisko Foundation\, he has led border relief initiatives\, established humanitarian towns\, and delivered aid to war-torn areas. His work also includes psychological education\, children’s camps\, and support for marginalized communities. The presentation will explore his experience in crisis management and cross-border efforts\, including recent flood relief in Bystrzyca Kłodzka. \nBorn in Poland and based in New York City\, Jack Marcin is an acclaimed guitarist known for his virtuosic performances across acoustic\, nylon\, and electric guitars. Fondly known as “El Polaco de la Bachata\,” he blends his Polish heritage with vibrant Latin music\, captivating audiences with his unique sound. Following his 2023 world tour\, Jack continues to perform on prestigious stages like Lincoln Center\, Carnegie Hall\, and festivals in Europe and the U.S. A Fulbright Award recipient\, he also serves as a teaching artist\, composer\, and band leader\, continuing to push musical boundaries. \n  \nFrom Poland to Ukraine: Culture and Crisis
