Her documentary The Earth Is Blue As an Orange\, won the “Directing Award” at the Sundance Film Festival in 2020\, and made its European Premiere at the Berlin Film Festival\, and her books have been translated into ten languages. Throughout Russia’s war on Ukraine\, she has actively taken part in literary readings\, documentary filmmaking\, and tutoring for children in Donbas. \nThe Earth Is Blue As an Orange Synopsis\nIn the town of Krasnohorivka on the front lines of war-torn Eastern Ukraine\, Anna and her children keep their home a safe haven\, full of life and light\, through their love of cinema. But the film they make together transforms trauma into art for an entire community.
