Facing War has been officially shortlisted by the Norwegian Oscar Committee as one of three films submitted for consideration for the 2026 Academy Awards in the category of Best Documentary Feature Film.
The film’s powerful impact has been recognized with the Grand Jury Documentary Award for Best Documentary at The Hague Movies that Matter Festival and earned a Special Mention for Journalistic Relevance at DocsBarcelona.
It has also been an official selection for prestigious honors, receiving nominations for the Vaclav Havel Special Award at the Prague One World Film Festival, the top CPH:DOX Award at its namesake festival, and the Best Documentary award at DocsBarcelona.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR
Tommy Gulliksen is a Norwegian film director who studied arts and journalism at Oslo University College. He is best known for his award-winning documentary En liten øy i verden (2011), the series Da vi styrte landet (2017), the award-winning documentaries Liberation Day (2016) and War of Art (2019). Gulliksen is co-founder of the Norwegian production company DOX Division.
