YAKYMENKO AND STEPOVY – TWO BROTHERS, TWO FATES
Yakiv Stepovy and Fedir Yakymenko came from the same cradle with identical birthmarks of cultural identity. Russian oppression forced them to take different paths. One was silenced by his early demise — the other by immigration. The two brothers, two composers, like many were victims of the disruption of Ukrainian cultural heritage.
