Ukraine. Every Day.
June 6, 2025 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for a special evening with Chinese artist and professor, Weixin Xu, who has used his iPad to create a drawing every day since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In a presentation about the digital images he makes daily, Professor Xu will share reflections on using art as a form of witness and resistance in times of war. The artist will be introduced by Dr. Vita Golod, co-founder of the Ukrainian Platform for Contemporary China and board member of the Ukrainian Association of Sinologists.
This event is presented in partnership with Branch #113 of the Ukrainian National Women’s League of America (UNWLA), marking its 40th anniversary as an organization of women of Ukrainian descent committed to supporting humanitarian efforts around the world and celebrating the rich legacy of Ukraine’s artistic heritage.
The program will be followed by a reception with light refreshments. Advance registration is requested. Contributions are appreciated.

Solo exhibitions include Song of Workers (Shanghai Art Museum, 2007), Chinese Historical Figures: 1966-1976 (Today Art Museum, Beijing, 2007), and China Image: Portrait in Circulation (Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies, Harvard University, 2011).
