The Ukrainian Institute of America
and The Goethe-Institut New York

cordially invite you to
a cocktail reception on Monday, April 4, 2005 from 6 – 8 PM

to welcome German artist Antje Schiffers, and hear about her new project “Globetrotting Through New York,” which would include New York’s Ukrainian Diaspora.

The work of Antje Schiffers focuses on ethnographic studies of various cultures worldwide. Last year she traveled to Eastern Europe on a study, but she did not visit Ukraine.

She has been commissioned for a new project, and wants to include Ukrainians to present them and people of other ethnicities with the question: How should the United States in all its cultural diversity be represented in Europe?

The April 4th wine and hors d'oeuvres reception will include a presentation by Ms. Schiffers as she seeks to learn and communicate with New York’s Ukrainian Diaspora, and launch her exhibition “Globetrotting Through New York” that will show at the Goethe-Institut.

Come and represent the Diaspora on April 4, 2005 from 6 – 8 PM, and celebrate a new partnership between the Ukrainian Institute and the Goethe-Institut New York.

RSVP by Friday April 1, 2005 by calling the Ukrainian Institute at
(212) 288-8660, or email programs@ukrainianinstitute.org
