Join us at the UIA on Tuesday, June 23rd at 6:00 PM for Medieval Game Night! Learn about Ukrainian history and language by taking part in a role-play game based on the Kyivan Rus manuscripts “Princess Olha and Her Ascent to Power,” all in the style of Dungeons & Dragons. Come expand your knowledge about Ukraine in an interactive, fun, and unique way!
The evening will begin with a special performance of “Olha of Kyiv” by acclaimed puppeteer and performer Zlata Godunova.
Light refreshments will be provided. Advance registration is requested.

Dr. Serhii Tereshchenko is a specialist in Slavic studies and the creator of Ukrainian Language Card Deck: Learn Ukrainian with Card Games, the series the Medieval Game Night will be centered around. He serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor and Director of the Russian program at the State University of New York, Albany. Additionally, he is a Practicing Assistant Professor of Ukrainian at the University of North Carolina. He earned his Ph.D. from Columbia University, where his doctoral research examined tropes of alterity in Soviet and Polish science fiction.
Zlata Godunova is a New York-based emerging puppeteer, actress, and dancer originally from Ukraine. She was classically trained at the National Academic Theatre of Drama and Musical Comedy in Ukraine and has performed in theater and puppet productions at Hunter College, Theater Row, and the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theater.
