Fighting for His Ukrainian Landscape. An Exhibition of Photographs by Denys Kryvyi
April 6, 2025 - June 1, 2025

In partnership with Ukrainian Jersey City, the Ukrainian Institute of America is honored to present an exhibition of photographs by Ukrainian photojournalist Denys Kryvyi, known for his powerful images of Ukraine’s natural landscapes published by National Geographic. On display through June 1, 2025, Kryvyi’s photographs capture the quiet majesty of Ukraine’s forests, rivers, and open spaces—landscapes now imperiled by the ongoing Russian invasion. Through this exhibition, we reflect on nature’s fragility and resilience, and the profound toll that conflict takes on ecosystems and biodiversity. The framed photographs are available for purchase, with proceeds to support demining initiatives of the Come Back Alive foundation
Nature in Danger is a series of exhibitions, conversations, and cultural events that took place during Earth Month 2025, aiming to inspire awareness and action around environmental destruction in war zones.

Ukrainian Jersey City’s “Nature in Danger” Project
This initiative aims to raise awareness about the environmental devastation in Ukraine and its global implications. The project’s primary goal is to fundraise for the demining of Ukrainian territory, which is crucial for restoring safety and biodiversity. All proceeds from the gallery exhibitions, panel discussions, and awareness campaigns will be directed towards demining efforts, addressing the urgent need to clear the country’s vast mined areas.
About Come Back Alive
We Live Here 2.0 is the second joint project of the “Come Back Alive” Foundation and Kyivstar on demining of the country. The group aims to raise UAH 100 million for engineering unmanned systems to support demining work. Deming teams will receive essentials for demining the territory of Ukraine, such as robotic platforms, vehicles, means of communication, and power, as well as an aerial module to keep situational awareness and ensure remote demining by detonation.
