European Literature Night (ELN) returns to New York for its 7th annual edition, presenting an evening of voices from across Europe through discussions, readings, and performances. ELN 2025 is presented by members of the EUNIC NY cluster in collaboration with PEN America and is proudly hosted at the Ukrainian Institute of America.

This year, Ukraine will be represented by acclaimed writer Artem Chapeye, whose life and work embody the moral and existential challenges facing Ukraine today. Known for his novels, essays, and reportage that blend humor with social insight, Chapeye brings a distinctly human voice to themes of identity, resilience, and the search for meaning amid conflict and change. His participation will offer audiences an opportunity to engage with one of Ukraine’s most vital literary voices and to experience the power of storytelling as a bridge between cultures.
