SAINTS: Photographs by Sasha Maslov

January 24, 2025 @ 6:00 pm - March 30, 2025 @ 6:00 pm

War doesn’t knock on your door asking if it can come in, it’s not warning you what will happen to your life, your family, the life of your community, your village or town or your country. It won’t tell you what your future will look like. It knocks everything out; it takes everything away from you without warning, and it gives in return one thing – a chance for you to fight back.

SAINTS is an evocative exhibition and photobook by acclaimed Ukrainian photographer Sasha Maslov, capturing the poignant stories and portraits of Ukrainians caught in the maelstrom of the Russian war against Ukraine from 2022 to 2023. In this compelling collection, Maslov redefines modern sanctity and self-sacrifice.

While supplies last, the SAINTS photobook, showcasing these compelling works and many more, will be available for purchase at the UIA.

And click HERE to bid in the online auction of the framed portraits. Proceeds will support humanitarian aid to Ukraine through the Come Back Alive Foundation. The auction ends Sunday, March 2, 2025, at noon (12 PM EST).

Sasha Maslov has extensive experience in storytelling, documentary, and portrait photography.

He works with a wide variety of esteemed media outlets including The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
