The Ukrainian Institute of America recommits to its mission of showcasing the rich culture and heritage of our Ukrainian homeland, especially as its Russian invaders are attempting to crush it once again. Beginning  March 2022, we have hosted an interactive installation at the Institute called The Pysanka: A Symbol of Hope. We have been receiving pysanky from all over the world and have enjoyed broad media coverage of the exhibit. On May 3rd, the UIA hosted members of the UNDWC (United Nations Delegations Women’s Club) as they placed pysanky that they made at a previously-held Pysanky Workshop on behalf of the UNDWC and the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the UN.

Sincerest thanks to all of the participants for their contributions as well as to Ambassador Kyslytsya and to Ambassador Paulauskas (Lithuania) and his lovely wife, Ruta, for their enthusiastic support of this project!  Photos below. The installation will run through August of 2022, so you still have plenty of time to contribute your Pysanka to this effort.
