NYC pysanky workshop guide extraordinaire

Express your creativity while experiencing this unique Ukrainian Easter egg-making tradition in a warm, fun and friendly environment.

Never tried your hand at this art? It’s a cultural experience accessible to all.

All levels welcome: those just beginning to explore, to those wishing to learn advanced techniques. Laryssa will be on hand to personally guide your artistic endeavors all afternoon.

Special presentation: “Ukraine will Rise”: Easter Postcards from Diaspora, 1945-1989 with Vasyl Kosiv, who has been teaching visual communication since 1998. He graduated from Lviv Academy of Arts and received his PhD from Kharkiv Academy of Design and Arts in Ukraine. 2003-2004 academic year he spent in the US, lecturing at Kansas State University and working as a visiting scholar at Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum in New York. He lectured in Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Poland, and Switzerland. Vasyl Kosiv served as a Deputy-Mayor of the City of Lviv from 2006 to 2013 being responsible for Education, Culture, Tourism, and Cross-Border Cooperation. Currently he is a Fulbright Scholar at Columbia University in the City of New York.
