On February 24 – 25, 2017, the Ukrainian Studies Program at The Harriman Institute at Columbia University in collaboration with the Ukrainian Institute of America will be organizing an international conference “Ukrainian Statehood 1917–21: Institutions and Individuals.” The conference will commemorate the 100-year anniversary of the Ukrainian Revolution and the creation of the modern Ukrainian state.
Holodomor Remembrance Day

Today, 26 November 2016, marks the Holodomor Remembrance Day and the 83rd anniversary of the Holodomor. Since 2006 it takes place every year on the fourth Saturday of November. On this day people in Ukraine and all over the world are lighting candles in memory of those killed during the genocide of 1932-33.
